With cold, dreary weather still on the forecast this spring, there’s no better time for comfort food. So, why not try whipping up a classic Italian favorite? Straight from the Zweigle’s kitchen, our easy Italian meat sauce is sure to keep you warm (and satisfied!) all season long.

1 lb ground beef

1 lb Zweigle’s Italian Sausage, chopped

2 qt whole canned tomatoes

1 onion, diced

2 tbsp olive oil

2 cloves garlic

Fresh basil

Fresh parmesan cheese (for topping)


  1. Add oil to a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Brown ground beef, sausage, and onion.
  3. Add tomatoes and basil, and simmer on low heat for 2 to 2.5 hours.
  4. Serve over your favorite noodles, top with parmesan cheese, and enjoy!
