Zweigle’s Mac and Cheese Dog

Have you ever wondered what it would taste like to combine two of your all-time favorite foods? Some combos (like pizza and ice cream, for example) might make your stomach churn. Today’s recipe though is an interesting and mouth watering cross between one of our favorite products and one of our favorite comfort foods. Sometimes, two seemingly different foods end up being totally meant for each other. Don’t believe us? Just try it out for yourself below.
  • Servings: 1 Hot Dog


  • 4 Zweigle’s Red Hots
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 1 pound uncooked pasta noodles
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 3 cups sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3 cups water
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic & herb seasoning (to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)


  1. In a medium sized pot, bring water to a boil.
  2. Reduce water to a simmer, add pasta noodles, and cook until al dente.
  3. Drain water, and in the same pot used to cook noodles, add butter, cheese, milk, and garlic & herb seasoning.
  4. Keep mixture over low heat, stirring frequently, until creamy.
  5. Finish macaroni with salt and pepper (to taste), and keep over low heat.
  6. Prepare Zweigle’s Red Hots in a large nonstick pan. Add to bun once thoroughly warmed, top with macaroni, and enjoy!
