Italian Meat Sauce

Straight from the Zweigle’s kitchen, our easy Italian meat sauce is sure to keep you warm (and satisfied!) all season long.


  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. Zweigle's Italian sausage, chopped
  • 2 qt. whole canned tomatoes
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Fresh basil
  • Fresh parmesan cheese (for topping)


  1. Add oil to a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Brown ground beef, sausage, and onion.
  3. Add tomatoes and basil, and simmer on low heat for 2 to 2.5 hours.
  4. Serve over your favorite noodles, top with parmesan cheese, and enjoy!
